Course Description:
Strong essay writing skills are essential for academic success in high school, college, and beyond—regardless of your future field of study, whether it’s business, science, engineering, or medicine.
This introductory course is your first step toward mastering academic essay writing. You'll be guided through the key elements of essay construction, including different types of essays, paragraph development, topic sentences, thesis statements, supporting evidence, grammar for academic writing, and effective vocabulary choices.
By the end of the course, with focused effort and participation, you will be able to write a well-organized, clearly argued short essay that meets the standards of American English in grammar, usage, and mechanics.
